It is unfortunate that in just a few week's time, players have had to put on with some of the worst NBA fan incidents known to man. Some people can't seem to understand that having the cash to purchase those elusive NBA tickets gives you the right to do whatever you want. Of course, you can engage in some light trash talking. But there are lines you cannot cross. If you decide to cross those lines, then you will pay the consequence.

The list will include some of the more recent fan incidents. It will also feature some of the forgotten bad behavior which seemed to have gone under the radar as social media was just gaining traction then. No matter what the era or how expensive they bought their tickets, fans do not have the right to hurl things at the player or insult them.

10. Courtside Karen vs LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is the most polarizing athlete over the last decade or so. So it makes perfect sense that he'll be on this list. Of course, diehard James fans know that he's had several tussles with nasty fans. Perhaps James deserves his own list. But his encounter with a “Courtside Karen” earlier this year takes the cake.

Peep the clip below as Jomboy walks you through the incident.

The fan apologized hours after the incident. But the damage had been done after the tweet below by James.

9. Kyrie Irving Almost Gets Hit by Water Bottle in Boston

Boston Celtics fans may still be heartbroken after Kyrie Irving left them in 2019. But this will never justify this type of behavior. It doesn't matter if the bottle hit Irving or not. This is easily one of the worst NBA fan incidents ever in the league.

8. Russell Westbrook vs Several Fans

Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook will appear several times in this list. Good thing a YouTuber compiled some of these encounters when Westbrook was still a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

We don't know what's up with these fans who continue to hate one of the best athletes in NBA history? Are they jealous? Are they insecure of Westbrook's god-given talents?

7. Beer Bottle Thrown Onto Court – 2009 Playoffs – Denver Nuggets vs New Orleans Hornets

The recent Kyrie Irving-Water Bottle incident is nothing compared to the 2009 beer bottle incident during the playoff game between the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Hornets. Fortunately, nothing horrific happened to the players.

6. Warriors Investor Shoves Kyle Lowry

What's worse than bad fan behavior? What about bad investor behavior? We get it. You love the Warriors so much that you shelled out your own hard-earned money. But money can never buy class. Props to the Warriors for making the right move by banning and fining the investor.

5. Sixers Fan Showers An Injured Russell Westbrook With Popcorn

Sure, popcorns won't hurt anyone. But does that give anyone an excuse to throw it at someone who's hurt and land on this list of worst NBA fan incidents? You can't blame Westbrook for trying to go after the fan after that. He's had his fair share of bad encounters with the worst fans on earth.

4. Knicks Fan Spits At Trae Young

Spitting on someone is one of the most disrespectful things a human can do to another human whether there's a pandemic going on or not. We get it. Knicks fans are the happiest group of people right now as their team finally made the playoffs. However, this doesn't give them the license to do whatever they want. The fan was lucky his spit didn't hit 50 cent's girl. Apart from being sanctions by the Knicks, he probably would've received a black eye.

3. Celtics Fan Hits Lamar Odom With Vodka Bottle

The water bottle and the beer bottle incident are nothing compared to this incident as the object grazed the player. There are very few reports on this example of worst NBA fan incidents except that Odom himself identified it as a small vodka bottle, like the one given in airplane flights. It's interesting how the incident was seemingly downplayed back then. It would've caused a social media ruckus if this happened today.

2. Racist Fan vs Russell Westbrook

This fan might not have thrown anything at Westbrook. But he did something much worse: blurt out racist remarks. Some fans do engage in some light trash-talking with NBA players. But this particular Jazz fan crossed the line. There's an interview with the aforementioned fan who denied such allegations. But there are clips and witnesses which support Westbrook's claims.

1. The Malice at the Palace

This event is so notorious that it has its own name. Just watch the 15-minute clip below to see how the whole thing developed. This has been the worst fan-player interaction in all of sports. We're hoping that nothing ever tops this one. You can't have a list of worst NBA fan incidents and not have The Malice at the Palace on it.
