Ohio State defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones has officially announced his intentions to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jones will play his final game for the Buckeyes when they take the field on New Year's Day for a Rose Bowl showdown with the Washington Huskies.

Here's what Jones had to say about the decision to play in the bowl game before focusing on an NFL career, courtesy of Stephen Means of Cleveland.com:

“I’m leaving,” Jones said.

The junior defensive end stated that he never thought about skipping the Rose Bowl and had no fear of any possible injury, saying that there’s always that chance of happening anyway.

“My thing with injuries is that they’re a part of the game,” Jones said. “You have to just play with it. As much as you think about it the more it can affect you.”

Jones had another successful season at the school in helping lead Ohio State to a 12-1 record, but after the upcoming bowl game, he'll be turning his attention to the professional ranks.

It's obviously way too early to know exactly where Jones could land in the draft, but his impressive play with the Buckeyes certainly shows his potential.

He's racked up 40 total tackles this season to go along with 8.5 sacks, and he also had an interception return for a touchdown as well.

We will find out exactly where Jones will be headed to pursue his professional career when the 2019 draft officially gets started in Nashville on April 25.
