The tight end position is a tricky one to evaluate as most aren't producing major fantasy football numbers. It’s time to continue our fantasy series with a fantasy football Week 6 tight ends start ’em sit ’em evaluation.

Players like Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, and Mark Andrews are going to perform well in fantasy football. Those guys are on a whole other level compared to the majority of tight ends. There are a few that are on the come up, but most need a favorable matchup in order to start consistently.

For week 6, some starters are on a bye week like Atlanta's Kyle Pitts or injured and unavailable. Let's take a look at who should start and sit for this weekend.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Tight Ends Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

Start ‘Em

Dalton Schultz – Dallas Cowboys

Schultz is becoming one of Dak's favorite targets on the Cowboys' offense. He is producing numbers each week and should be a consistent starter moving forward.

The Cowboys do face a tough defense in the Patriots on Sunday. They rank first against opposing tight ends so it will be challenging for him. Schultz should still be a starter this week.

Tyler Higbee – Los Angeles Rams

Higbee is a streaky fantasy producer this season. It's hard to tell whether he is going to play well, or not produce at all. He found the endzone last week and should play well this week.

He has a favorable matchup against the 26th ranked NY Giants. If Stafford is on his game, he should find Higbee multiple times throughout the game.

Dawson Knox – Buffalo Bills

Knox is a rising star in the league this year. Allen has made it clear that Knox is one of his favorite targets and it's showing. Knox caught three passes for 117 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs Sunday night.

He faces the Titans this upcoming Monday night. They rank 3rd against opposing tight ends, but that shouldn't stop the Bills who are playing extremely well right now. Knox is a great fantasy football option moving forward.

Sit ‘Em

Robert Tonyan – Green Bay Packers

After a solid 2020 season, Tonyan isn't playing at that level this year. He's found the endzone only once this year, but his targets are the factor. Either he isn't getting open or the Aaron Rodgers is focusing on other targets.

Tonyan faces the Bears this week who are ranked sixth against tight ends. This is once again a bad matchup for him and should be benched this week.

Jonnu Smith – New England Patriots

The Patriots' offense is slowly starting to find their groove. Rookie Mac Jones seems to complete a lot of passes, but not many are to Smith. He seems to favor other tight-end Hunter Henry a little more.

Dallas isn't great against the tight-end position as they rank 22nd. Smith has only found the endzone once this year, so he isn't a worthy option this week.

Austin Hooper – Cleveland Browns

Hooper is fresh off a zero-target performance against the LA Chargers. A lot of that has to do with their focus on the run, but zero targets says a lot in a 42-point outing. David Njoku played well with 149 yards and a touchdown and stole all the targets from Hooper. Hooper is great in their pass game, so he will continue to play. He just isn't a worthy fantasy football option at this point in the season.

Arizona ranks second against tight ends, so this will once again be a good time to bench Hooper in your league.
