Game 3 between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers turned out to be a blowout. LA just couldn't miss, as the team shot over 56% from the field. Just an insanely efficient night for the Clippers. Additionally, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined for 65 points while Reggie Jackson and Nicolas Batum combined for 34 themselves.
Donovan Mitchell managed to total 30 points on the night, but the team as a whole just wasn't efficient enough to keep up with the Clippers. This was a huge win for Los Angeles, as it puts them right back into this series. After winning two close games, Utah will have to make some adjustments to earn their third victory.
The Jazz finished as the first seed for a reason. They'll be looking to bounce back in Game 4, while the Clippers aim to even the series. We've seen both of these teams go ballistic in field goal percentage, so we could witness a spectacular shooting night on Monday. Additionally, Mitchell might have to do even more to keep his team in this one after Leonard and George went nuclear in Game 3. With that said, here are three bold predictions for the Jazz-Clippers Game 4 matchup.
Both teams shoot over 48% from the field
The Jazz were incredibly efficient in Game 2, while the Clippers did the same on Saturday. These teams are getting their grooves going and we could be in for a spectacular shooting night in Game 4. To do so, both offenses will have to perform at an incredibly high level while the defense struggles for both teams.
If this comes to fruition, we could be in for a high scoring game on Monday. All of the superstars will have to be on point, and the supporting casts must elevate their production to make this happen. If any game is capable of having both teams shoot over 48% from the field, it's the Jazz and Clippers.
Donovan Mitchell goes off for 45+ points
After watching Leonard and George combine for 65 points on Saturday night, Donovan Mitchell will be looking to get his scoring going again. He dropped 30 points in Game 3, but it just wasn't enough. Missing Mike Conley Jr. in the lineup proved to be a huge loss, and if he's ruled out for Game 4, Mitchell will have to elevate his game to lead Utah to a 3-1 series lead.
Having some help from his teammates will be needed, but the Jazz needs their superstar shooting guard to take over the series. A task much easier said than done, as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have other plans in store. Look for Mitchell to be at his best for the next matchup, as it gives the Jazz their best chance of succeeding.
Clippers even the series at 2-2
Los Angeles has built some solid momentum after winning 132-106 on Saturday night. Additionally, they should feel supremely confident, as they kept within striking distance in the first two games. The Clippers hope to capitalize on the Jazz as long as Conley is sidelined, which could prove to be the difference maker in this series. Be ready to see some big performances from Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in Game 4.
