After having spent the past couple of seasons as Lamar Jackson's back-up on the Ravens, Robert Griffin III finds himself on the free-agent market once again. Several seasons removed from a promising rookie campaign that ended with a career-altering injury, RGIII is hard at work and doing all he can to get back on an NFL roster this season.

With a few teams now in dire need of a new starting quarterback, RGIII may be in luck and could find himself in the running for a starting job sooner than expected. Hoping to land on a new team and make an immediate impact, let's now take a look at three ideal destinations for Robert Griffin III as he aims for an NFL comeback.

Best Destinations for Robert Griffin III:

Indianapolis Colts

After Carson Wentz endured another big injury this past weekend against the Rams, the Indianapolis Colts may have an opening at starting quarterback. Even though the severity of his injured ankles is unknown at this time and his status for Week 3 is up in the air, there is still an opportunity for Robert Griffin III to come in as a temporary solution at quarterback for the Colts.

However, there's also a strong possibility that Wentz pulls through and comes back fully healthy in time for their match-up against the Titans on Sunday. Either way, it would still be beneficial for the Colts to take a chance on Griffin III and bring in another reliable quarterback that they can have ready in case Wentz's injury proves to be more severe than expected and he is forced to miss a huge chunk of the season.

Houston Texans

With Tyrod Taylor expected to be out for a month, bringing in RGIII would give the Texans an experienced quarterback that could hold down the fort for them until Taylor is back in the line-up. Granted this wouldn't be a permanent situation for Robert Griffin III, but it would be a chance for him to get back on an NFL team and give the Texans some relief at quarterback for the time being.

Looking to bounce back from a tough Week 2 loss to the Browns, the Texans are keen on bringing in a quarterback that will keep them competitive and in a good position to stay atop the AFC South. Although it has been a while, RGIII has previously shown his ability to thrive under center for a young and talented team with playoff potential.

Miami Dolphins

Currently listed as day-to-day for the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa left Sunday's match-up against the Buffalo Bills with bruised ribs. Although the x-rays came back negative, Tua may still wind up missing a few games and this will in-turn leave the Dolphins with a void to fill at the quarterback spot.

Now that RGIII is working tirelessly to get another chance in the NFL, the Dolphins could be one team of interest that would benefit highly from his skills and experience. Now there's no guarantee that Tua will wind up missing any time for the Dolphins, but on the chance that he's forced to miss a few games, taking a chance on Robert Griffin III would be a gamble well worth it for the Dolphins.
