The Kansas City Chiefs are going to be in the playoffs after winning the AFC West. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they will not have the number one seed so it will not be as easy as it possibly could have been for them. With all the experience that they have, and having arguably the best quarterback in all of football, Kansas City should not have any problem in the playoffs.
Let's take a look at three reasons why Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will win Super Bowl 56 despite losing the number one seed in the AFC.

3. Mahomes is Mahomes
If anybody in the world is going to doubt Patrick Mahomes, they simply haven't watched football in the past few seasons or are just a hater. This guy is clearly a top-three quarterback in all of football and there can even be a case that he is the best. Obviously, guys like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are certainly some of the best quarterbacks to ever play this game, but Mahomes is incredible and certainly isn't far behind those guys. He is having a down year this year in terms of what he is used to and he still threw for over 4,500 yards with 35 touchdowns. The only reason that people are thinking Mahomes has not played well this season is because he has thrown 13 interceptions.
Fortunately for the Chiefs, Mahomes has been able to limit his turnovers the past two games as he has not thrown an interception in either of their contest against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in all of football and has been the main reason why the Chiefs have had so much success the past few years. It would be crazy to think that the Chiefs won't find the same success in the playoffs because they still have this guy running the ship. He's going to continue proving people wrong who are sleeping on him this year and he's going to get the Chiefs back to another Super Bowl.
2. Defense has shown signs of improvements
The biggest concern this year with the Chiefs outside of Mahomes turnovers has been their defense. There have been some weeks that the defense did not play anywhere near what they are capable of but that was mostly towards the beginning of the season. They did give up 34 points to the Cincinnati Bengals, but Cincinnati does have one of the best offenses in all of football.
If the defense can just allow 21 points or less in the playoffs, they're going to win every game that they play. There's no way that a team in the playoffs is going to be able to keep Patrick Mahomes to under 21 points and if the defense can just do a little bit, the Chiefs are going to find themselves in another Super Bowl.
1. They have been there before
One big thing about professional sports and having success in the playoffs is how much experience a team has. The Chiefs have some of the most experience in the NFL as they have been to a Super Bowl in both of the past two years.
This is going to help them immensely as they understand exactly what they are going to need to get done in the playoffs in terms of how to get wins. Whenever a team is led by some guys who are veterans and have been there before, they will usually find success.
