Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was brilliant for the San Francisco 49ers this past season, helping them advance all the way to the NFC Championship. There were also on the brink of a berth in the Super Bowl before a dropped interception. Nevertheless, the franchise is still expected to trade the veteran signal-caller, even though he's expected to get shoulder surgery this month.

That being said, it looks like the 49ers will finally hand the keys to the offense to Trey Lance. That's a lot of responsibility for the former North Dakota State standout, but San Francisco clearly believes he's up for the task.

As for Garoppolo, he would be a viable target for a lot of teams. The QB brings a ton of experience to the table and has proven that he can get it done on the big stage as well. However, Jimmy G is 30-years-old and has likely peaked. Plus, it feels like no organization is looking at Garoppolo and thinking he could be a number one option.

After what the quarterback did in the postseason though, the 49ers should be able to get a decent return for him, maybe even a second-round pick. It will be interesting to see where Jimmy Garoppolo ends up and maybe, he'll come back even stronger after surgery.
