Activision Blizzard slowly cultivates a questionable reputation with its decisions in recent memory. The company most recently let go of multiple Blizzard employees following supposed record-high performances. Now, the promotion of Blizzard's CCO Armin Zerza to CFO of Activision Blizzard brought about a new challenge for the company. In a report by Kotaku, the massive gaming giant hired former Trump administration member Brian Bulatao as a new chief administrative officer. The company failed to announce this publicly but it could have massive ramifications for the Overwatch and Diablo developer.

ACTIVISION BLIZZARD STRIKES AGAIN

The hire comes on the heels of Armin Zerza's promotion to Chief Financial Officer. The acquisition of Bulatao went under the radar because the company never publicized it. The announcement allegedly circulated in the company via an email from CEO Bobby Kotick. The company-wide email welcomed the former Under Secretary of State for Management to the gaming giant. Naturally, Kotick went on to praise Bulatao for his past achievements. Additionally, the announcement spoke about his alleged “perfect fit” for the long-time game developer.

“Brian is a rare talent, and the perfect fit for Activision Blizzard. His unparalleled combination of business, military, and government experience makes him ideally suited to accelerate our organizational transformation and deliver on great opportunities for future growth.”

Kotick assigned Bulatao to oversee the non-profit organization Call of Duty Endowment. His involvement with the video game side of the company remains unknown at this point in time. The CEO however stated that Bulatao will have “management responsibility”  in some areas across the company.

Brian Bulatao gained infamy in recent years as the aggressive underling of the State Department's Mike Pompeo. Only time will tell if he truly proves to be the perfect fit for Activision Blizzard that Kotick claims he is. Naturally, the massive gaming company continues with its weird brand of odd decision-making.
