When NJPW Strong Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer marched out to the ring in Los Angeles after Mercedes Mone defeated Skye Blue in her first-ever TV match, it all but certainly revealed who the “CEO” would wrestle at Forbidden Door at the end of the month on Long Island.

… or did it?

Discussing who Mone should wrestle at Forbidden Door on Busted Open Radio, ECW legend Tommy Dreamer floated a performer he admittedly believed would be a longshot for the title shot but could be an absolutely incredible addition to the show: Becky Lynch.

“Break the bank and give her a one-shot deal: Becky Lynch. Put her on a one-shotter,” Tommy Dreamer declared via Wrestling Inc.

A wild idea? You bet, it's borderline impossible to imagine Lynch signing with AEW on a one-show contract, even if TK would all but surely put that deal on the table if “The Man” wanted it. Still, Dreamer isn't alone in his suggestion, as the “CEO” was asked a similar question in an appearance on TMZ Sports and let it be known that she would welcome Lynch in AEW as, at this point, the opportunities are endless in TK's company.

“I mean, with AEW, the dreams are endless, the potential is endless, and anyone who comes to the table with me just needs to know that I am ready because I stay ready, baby. So, it could be absolutely anybody,” Mercedes Mone told TMZ via Ringside News.

Would it be cool to see Lynch debut in AEW at Forbidden Door, challenging her fellow Four Horsewoman for the TBS Championship on Long Island? Most definitely, that match alone would instantly make the show a must-watch across the entire IWC and would likely sell out the show well before the opening bell. In the end, Mone will likely be wrestling the NJPW Strong Women's Champion, but gosh, if Lynch somehow ends up at the show, that would make one heck of a moment.

Scrypts opens up about wrestling Mercedes Mone in WWE.

Speaking of former Mercedes Mone opponents who recently had their WWE contracts expire, Scrypts aka Reggie aka Sidney Akeem discussed what it was like to end up feuding with the “CEO” and how another AEW transplant, Adam Copeland, helped him out a ton with some well-appreciated feedback.

“Well, they didn't have to tell me because I knew for a fact it was rare,” Akeem said via Fightful. “I was blessed with the opportunity. I am a creator, I am a person that, I'm just gonna attack whatever opportunity head on and I'm just gonna go for it. I remember a coach told me, [ACO] at the PC when I got there, he said, ‘Dude, you're playing catch up. You're not gonna get better by training for three to four times a week. You have to do more.' So I said, ‘Okay, cool.' So I went into goal mode. I started training outside the PC with EJ Nduka, the Judge, Ricochet, Isaiah, Rich Swann, Joaquin Wilde, Moose. I'm training with all of these guys because the pandemic happened—I got there in January—pandemic happened the day after my birthday, was everything was shut down March 14th. I said, ‘I don't have time to take a vacation.' So I was training throughout the whole pandemic, and then we get back to training around like August or something like that.

“I remember I came back, and I was in the best shape of my life. I had a PC live match, and some people came up to me and said, ‘Dude, you really impressed a lot of people. We have some big plans for you,' and then when that happened, not a month later, I get called to SmackDown to be an on screen—not even a character. It was just an on-screen moment for Carmella as her sommelier, and when that happened, the first time that happened, I got my butt whooped. I got thrown to a table, I got hit with a finisher, I got slapped, hit with the clipboard. table flipped on me. It was just insane. I'm like, ‘That was cool, that lasted as long as it lasted. I don't expect to be back.' But I was happy because I was going back to 205 live stuff at NXT. Yeah, that is insane.

“You know, I did my first PC live, my first match ever was at the PC and it was my second match and it was in front of Edge. Edge gave me some great feedback saying, dude, to be your second match ever, that was incredible. I never did like a show in Orlando. I never did anything like that, [coconut,] a live event. It was just really thrown into the fire. I'm not gonna lie, I performed my entire life—16 years of performing—I was nervous as h*ll and we were in the virtual fans. I was nervous as h*ll. But when I went out there, I'm like, ‘Oh, this is very similar to what I'm used to.' So I went out there and had fun, and that thing blew up. It blew up.”

Well, if AEW can't secure Lynch on a free agent contract, maybe there's a world where TK could bring Akeem into his wrestling galaxy, giving the gymnast-turned-high flyer a spot in Ring of Honor as he attempts to prove he can be more than what WWE offered. While it may or may not work, with so many AEW members already in his corner, the timing could be perfect for Akeem to find a new home, at least for now, alongside plenty of the performers he came up with in NXT.
