Army football might not be a college football fan's regular home for viewing of the sport, but everyone understands why the service schools deserve a platform nearly each and every Saturday. It is why many have been thankful that CBS has given Army such a platform over the years.

The good news is that company plans to continue giving Army a national platform. According to a release from the network, the TV deal between the company and Army has been extended through 2022.

“Army remains one of the cornerstones of our college sports coverage at CBS Sports and extending this partnership was an important priority,” said Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President of Programming, CBS Sports. “We value the tradition and prestige that this relationship brings to CBS and look forward to further showcasing the programs of this unique and wonderful institution.”

This isn't terribly shocking, as the broadcast company already has a slew of Army games ready to be aired this season. In fact, all seven of the team's home games were already scheduled to air on the CBS Sports Network in 2017. That's not yet, either. The annual Army-Navy game airs annually on network's flagship channel at the end of each season.

It isn't just football that is getting some love from the broadcast company The network's channel dedicated to sports will have options for the school's basketball and lacrosse.

Earlier this year, CBS Sports and Army-Navy agreed to a 10-year deal extending its broadcast, cable and digital rights for the game through 2028. This is good news for those who like to support the troops in all areas, including collegiate sports.
