The Chicago Bears are listed as betting favorites to trade for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and wide receiver Allen Robinson is apparently a fan of it, as he liked the tweet that revealed the odds.

The Bears' quarterback situation has been in flux, to say the least.

Chicago took Mitchell Trubisky with the second overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft and made him the full-time starter midway through his rookie campaign.

He has shown very little progression since and is coming off of a nightmarish 2019 campaign in which he threw for 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 63.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 83.

The Bears maintained earlier this offseason that they were committed to Trubisky, but they have since changed their tune and have been exploring the market for upgrades.

Luckily for Chicago, plenty of solid quarterbacks have become available this offseason, and Newton is one of them.

The Panthers announced earlier on Tuesday that they had given Cam Newton permission to seek a trade, effectively ending his nine-year tenure in Carolina. Newton then responded in a fiery Instagram comment, saying, ‘you forced me into this.'

Of course, this is not the same Newton that won the MVP award back during the 2015-16 season, as he has undergone a couple of shoulder surgeries since the end of 2016 and also underwent a procedure on his foot to repair an issue that limited him to just two games this past year.

Still, the Bears are in need of a change under center, and Robinson seems to be very open to the idea of Newton supplanting Trubisky as the starter.
