The Chicago Bears have had an incredibly strange offseason thus far and there might be more oddities in store.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy reportedly met with free-agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay on Wednesday night, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Why is this strange news? Well, the Bears already have some internal turmoil at the wide receiver position.

Chicago and star wide receiver Allen Robinson failed to reach an extension over the course of the 2020 season despite Robinson's clear desire to reach an accord. The Bears then slapped Robinson with the franchise tag.

There have been little murmurings about a Robinson extension as of late. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN also reported Robinson is perfectly content waiting things out before signing his franchise tender.

Is signing Golladay a possible insurance move in the event Robinson elects not to play? Or does the Bears management hope to have two Pro Bowl-caliber receivers lining up out wide in 2021?

Either way, Chicago's offense is going to be quite interesting next season.

The Bears took an enormous swing at Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson, but the Seahawks signaled their intent to retain Wilson for the time being. Chicago pivoted by signing veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, who went 4-5 with the Dallas Cowboys last season.

For his part, Golladay offers plenty of intrigue as one of the more talented receivers in football. He made the Pro Bowl in 2019 after leading the NFL with 11 touchdown receptions.

But Chicago's interest in Golladay could be telling in their lack of confidence regarding Robinson suiting up in 2021.
