Andy Dalton is currently the Chicago Bears' QB1, and he's going to get limited reps in the preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. While Dalton won't play much, QB1 of the future Justin Fields is about to get a whole lot of playing time.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy revealed his strategy with Fields on Friday:

Whether Fields actually makes it into the fourth quarter or not remains to be seen, but the plan is to get him a bunch of reps in his NFL debut. It looks like he's also going to get some action with at least some members of the first-team offense:

Bears fans are extremely excited about having Fields as the new quarterback of the future. Mitchell Trubisky was just the latest in the long line of Chicago quarterback failures, and the hope is Fields will break that run. The Ohio State product has a ton of talent and was viewed by some as the No. 2 prospect in the draft, but he still fell all the way to No. 11.

The Bears jumped on that opportunity and traded up to get Fields. While Chicago is currently playing it safe with the rookie by making Dalton the starter, we'll see how long that remains the case. The fans will be longing for Fields to play, and he could be out there in the regular season sooner rather than later if he shows he's ready for it.

For now, though, let's just hope he shows out in his preseason opener.
