The Chicago Bears are not wasting any time after firing head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace following the end of a miserable 2021 season.

Chicago is apparently already making calls to find their next head coach, with their first move setting up an interview with Super Bowl winning coach Doug Pederson.

As Tom Pelissero of NFL Network noted, however, it is not only the Bears who are interested in the former Philadelphia Eagles tactician who is just three years removed from his Super Bowl LII win. Pederson is also a target for the Jaguars after the team parted ways with Urban Meyer late in the 2021 season.

Doug Pederson left the Eagles in 2020 after he was fired due to their lack of success in four straight years since winning the Super Bowl. However, his championship experience and ability to manage a team with a young quarterback could be what the Bears need to take the team to the next level.

Chicago has the talent to compete against the top dogs in the league, but they just can't seem to break through under Matt Nagy.

It remains to be seen what the Bears will do with their head coaching vacancy. Nonetheless, as discussed earlier, they have some solid options if they look at other potential candidates like Kevin Wilson, Eric Bieniemy and Jim Harbaugh.
