The Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions will take part in an NFC North showdown in Week 1, with both teams dealing with notable injuries.

Just two days before the game kicks off, Khalil Mack and David Montgomery are listed as questionable, per Chicago's PR Twitter account.

Mack is reportedly dealing with a knee injury and has logged limited practices with the Bears this week. The All-Pro edge rusher is motivated to have a stellar 2020 season after being disappointed in his production in 2019. His 8.5 sacks from last season were the lowest of his career since his rookie season in 2014.

On the other hand, Montgomery has been battling a groin injury after sustaining the injury earlier in training camp. At the least, he's been able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday. Still, the questionable designations for Mack and Montgomery prove that both of them aren't 100 percent yet.

Entering his second season with the Bears, Montgomery is expected to see an expanded role in the offense. As a rookie in 2019, Montgomery rushed for 889 yards and six touchdowns. He would also record 25 receptions for 185 yards and another score through the air.

Besides Mack and Montgomery, newly signed edge-rusher, Robert Quinn, is doubtful to play on Sunday versus the Lions. Quinn signed a five-year, $70 million deal with Chicago this offseason, forming a lethal duo with Mack.

If both Quinn and Mack are unable to go, the Bears could be lacking in the pass-rushing department in Week 1. With that being said, telling from their practice participation in recent days, Mack and Montgomery seem closer to probable. It will still be worth monitoring their status in the days leading up to the game.
