The Chicago Bears have been one of the biggest stories in the 2018 NFL season, thanks in large part to the arrival in Windy City of pass rushing monster Khalil Mack, who has given the team a tremendous boost, enough to help the Bears win the NFC North title and apparently a comparison to LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wait? What?

In a recently published piece by Adam Rank of NFL.com, a number of NFL players were given their NBA counterparts. Among the comparisons made were that between Mack and James, though, Rank used a rather more interesting reason as the crux of the contrasting.

Mack is LeBron. And not for some of the reasons that you think. Obviously, both players are versatile. Both started their careers on bad teams. You could even say Mack has moved on to the Heat portion of his career. But my main reason is both players are so dominant, their opponents are never called for fouls or penalties. LeBron routinely gets mugged on the way to the basket, which apparently isn't against the rules in the NBA anymore. And even though Mack is held on every play, he didn't get a call until the Packers game in Week 15. I mean, he's resorted to sacking people with his back now.

This is obviously not the first time that LeBron James has been juxtaposed with a great Chicago athlete, as he has often been put side by side with some guy who used to play for the Chicago Bulls named Michael Jordan.

As an athlete with an unfair blend of size, athleticism, power, and explosiveness, Mack is always going to be compared to LeBron James, but he can truly elevate himself to next level if he could put up a huge performance in the playoffs and lead the Bears to a win in Super Bowl 53.
