Philadelphia 76ers rookie forward Ben Simmons was straight forward with his response when asked about a potential return date from his injury.

“I'll play when I'm ready,” Simmons told Philadelphia Magazine's Derek Bodner.

Simmons also denied any talk of him potentially being shut down for the season, as previously reported.

Head coach Brett Brown previously gave a potential timeline for a return in January for the 20-year-old, but the organization will likely be extra careful with its franchise piece.

All eyes will be on Joel Embiid for the time being, and he was a splendid sight in his regular season debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Like Embiid, Jahlil Okafor will be in a minutes restriction and Nerlens Noel will join Simmons on the bench for the next few weeks with an injury of his own.
