Carson Palmer's legacy in Cincinnati is rather complicated. The quarterback ushered in one of the best eras in modern Bengals history, leading the team to multiple playoff appearances and winning seasons. However, his ugly exit from the team left a sour taste on most fans' mouth.

As the Bengals are gearing up for the Super Bowl on Sunday night, Carson Palmer fired a subtle shot at Cincinnati in the form of advice for Joe Burrow. In a radio interview, the former star urged Burrow to reconsider his stance with the organization. (via Sports Illustrated)

“I think Joe's gonna sit back after this game, win or lose and be like ‘man, am I gonna re-sign with this team?'. Are they willing to do what it takes to continuously build to get back to the next Super Bowl? Next year and the year after that and the year after that?

Palmer's comments struck a nerve amongst Bengals fans. The former franchise QB has seemingly made a point of dissing his former team whenever he has the chance. The relationship between Palmer and the fanbase that adored him before has severely deteriorated, to the point where's unliked by a MAJORITY of the fans.

That's not to say that Palmer's comments are wrong. The Bengals right now have a glaring weakness: their offensive line. It's improved a bit since Burrow's rookie season when he got injured on a sack, but that was an extremely low bar. If Mike Brown wants to keep this team competitive for years to come, they need to figure out ways of improving their protection on their star quarterback.

Fortunately, the Bengals fanbase has another ex-player who supports them: AJ Green.
