At first, Billy Price was simply named when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called him out on that primetime Thursday night of the 2018 NFL Draft. Now, it's official.

The Ohio State product is officially an employee of the Cincinnati Bengals now that he's put pen to paper and signed his rookie pact. The team announced it on their official Twitter account on Monday morning.

Price, 22, was the 21st overall pick in last month's draft. He follows a long line of Buckeye tradition at the center.

Nick Mangold is the name that always first comes to mind. Playing over a decade of Hall of Fame football for the New York Jets, Nikky is the gold standard. A year ago, Pat Eflein slid to the third round of the draft and the Minnesota Vikings scooped the kid up in a hurry. Twenty-eighteen will be Price's turn.

Though he's already slated as the starting center, there will be competition this summer.

Veteran T.J. Johnson is a four-year pro who started four games in 2017. He'll represent Price's top competitor this August. The third center on the depth chart is Brad Lundblade, an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State. Despite the other names, Price is the guy.

The Bengals have been desperate for offensive line help the last several years and when entering this offseason, it topped the priority list. Look for starting quarterback Andy Dalton's back right hand to be touching the ass of Billy Price all summer and then, subsequently, all 2018 season long.
