Ice Cube has already managed to acquire several former NBA stars for the BIG3, but it sounds like there are still a few players on his wish list, including Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Vince Carter.

Cube recently joined HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” for a wide-ranging interview. Amid their discussion, Cube was asked if there are any “dream recruits” that he would like to bring into the BIG3. The successful artist and producer says there are roughly 20 names on his list, but Bryant, Garnett and Carter are at the top:

“I've got about a list of 20,” Ice Cube replied when asked about his dream recruits. “Kobe (Bryant), Kevin Garnett and Vince (Carter) when he comes out (of the NBA).

“It's not about me selling them,” Cube added. “The league sells itself.”

Ice Cube's BIG3 is steadily growing in popularity. The 3-on-3, half-court format is attractive to anyone who has played a friendly game of hoops at their local park. Standard 2- and 3-point shots still apply, but players who feel confident in their stroke can attempt a 4-pointer from one of the blue circles beyond the arc (30 feet from the hoop). Whether or not Bryant, Durant or Carter will be playing in the BIG3 at some point in the future remains to be seen, but it's clear that Ice Cube would love to have them aboard.
