NBA legend Bill Russell stole the NBA Awards Show, getting the crowd roaring on their feet upon receiving his Lifetime Achievement award from some of the best big men to ever play the game.

The octogenarian was introduced by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Shaquille O’Neal and David Robinson — decades' worth of greatness at the center position, one which he didn't just fit into, but made a lifestyle out of as a tenacious rebounder and ruthless shot-blocker.

Upon receiving his award, Russell couldn't help but telling these fellow greats that he “would kick their a**” to the laughter of the ones in attendance in Basketball City at Pier 36 in New York City.

Russell followed with the great respect he's had for each of these centers for defining the position in their very own way and honing their craft around it as some of the best to ever play.

Surely an endearing moment and one that the NBA icon deserved for his lifetime of service as a player, coach, and ambassador of the game.
