Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen could care less about whether he gets a contract extension. He is focused on playing winning football.

Allen is preparing for his fourth season, which is typically when young quarterbacks start building momentum for an extension. However, there has been very little noise on that front thus far.

The Bills signal-caller is not concerned with the nonexistent extension talks. He said Tuesday the money should take care of itself if he can help take Buffalo to the next level:

“I'm just trying to be the best quarterback that I can be for the Bills,” Allen said, via Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News. “That's why as players, most of us, not all of us, have agents to take care of that side of things. Again, that's the least most thing I'm worrying about right now. I'm just trying to find ways I can do better and be better for this team, and help us accomplish the goal that we want to accomplish.”

Allen certainly looked like the Bills' franchise quarterback in 2020.

The 25-year-old was one of the best quarterbacks in football last season, completing over 69 percent of his passes for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. Allen also rushed for 421 yards and eight touchdowns.

Those numbers would seem to dictate Allen earning his just due when the time comes should he be able to repeat that kind of success in 2021. Indeed, the Bills already picked up Allen's fifth-year option, an indication they hope to sign him to an extension in the near future.

A Super Bowl run would all but guarantee the Bills look to get a deal done sooner, rather than later.
