CJ McCollum's time with the Portland Trail Blazers has come to an end after the Rip City franchise traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Despite the rather shocking turn of events, however, McCollum has nothing but love for the team and the city that welcomed him with open arms.

On Twitter hours after the deal was made, McCollum quote-tweeted a video tribute the Blazers made for him. The 30-year-old guard, drafted 10th overall in 2013, established himself as a legend in Portland as he became one of the better scorers and shot-creators in the league.

The now ex-Blazers guard showed his appreciation for Portland as he emphasized his love for the city and the team.

CJ McCollum has been in trade rumors in recent days, although there were not many expectations he'll actually get traded given that it's hard to replace him and get Damian Lillard another partner who can carry the offensive load.

However, it looks like the Blazers are firm in their mindset of shaking up the roster and rebuilding the pieces around Lillard. They have been cutting salaries with their recent moves, hinting that they are gearing up to land a top-tier talent either at the trade deadline or in the offseason via trade or free agency.

While McCollum is no longer with the team, there is no doubt that he will be remembered as an icon.
