Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard had a confident stance following Tuesday night's 121-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

As part of his postgame media availability, Lillard declared that it's time for Portland to make a “final push” for the playoffs. With Tuesday's win, the Blazers improved to 29-37 overall, which is currently good for the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference and 3.5 games behind the 8th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies (32-33).

Lillard hounded the Suns all night. The former Weber State standout logged 40 minutes, notching a team-high 25 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field (5-of-10 from beyond the arc), seven assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Hassan Whiteside recorded his 51st double-double of the season, recording 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Trevor Ariza and CJ McCollum racked up 22 points apiece.

As a team, Portland finished with nine blocks and nine steals and committed a reasonable 11 turnovers:

“We're trying to make this final push for the playoffs,” Lillard told reporters following Tuesday night's victory over the Suns. “We had to have this one, and that's where it started at — on the defensive end.”

Tuesday night's win snapped a two-game losing skid for the Blazers, who are among several teams vying for a spot in the playoffs.

The Blazers will be back in action on Thursday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Grizzlies. Without question, it will be a game that holds playoff weight.
