Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts is confident that Enes Kanter will be alright during Ramadan.

The Turkish center will be fasting throughout the month, but Stotts is not worried and cited that even Hakeem Olajuwon turned out fine even during the observation of the religious practice.

“The only conversation I had was I asked (Kanter) when it was, but I didn't necessarily ask him what he's going to do about it because obviously he's done this before. Hakeem Olajuwon was pretty good during Ramadan, so I think (Kanter) will be alright,” Stotts said, per Blazers beat reporter Casey Holdahl.

After Jusuf Nurkic went down with an injury, Kanter has taken on a much more active role in the Blazers' offense and defense. In the postseason so far, he's averaging 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 33 minutes.

In their series with the Denver Nuggets, he's putting up the best numbers of his career so far. Across 40.3 minutes per game, he's averaging 19.7 points, 10.3 rebounds while shooting 59.5 percent from the field.

According to reports, during the Ramadan period, Kanter will wake up at 4 a.m. and have a breakfast of yogurt, fruit and peanut butter. He'll also drink as much water as he can. Between sunrise and sunset, he will abstain from eating, even taking the medicine for the shoulder he injured a few weeks ago.

Time will only tell how it will affect Kanter's play. Hopefully, it won't be at the expense of the Trail Blazers' championship hopes.
