With no NBA basketball currently in session due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, players have a lot more time on their hands. With no games on the schedule, Portland Trail Blazers forward Mario Hezonja took to Twitter to post a creative Super Mario-inspired highlight of a dunk he had this season against the Washington Wizards.

With the first name Mario, Hezonja is bound to be connected to the famous Nintendo character from time to time. In the highlight, Hezonja receives the star power-up that is popular in Mario games and dunks the ball (or star) with a Mario hat on all while the famous Super Mario Bros power-up music plays in the background.

In real life, Hezonja has played 16.3 minutes a contest in his first season in Portland. The former top-five draft pick is averaging 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from deep.

While Hezonja's role is lesser than in previous seasons, he is still giving valuable minutes off the bench to a Blazers squad that was trying to claw their way back into the playoffs before the season was suspended.
