Borussia Dortmund has been a hot destination for some of football's brightest young talents in recent years. Home to star players such as Erling Haaland (for now) and Jude Bellingham, Dortmund have managed to add another one of the brightest young players in the game to their ranks. According to Fabrizio Romano, and certified with the official “here we go,” Dortmund is set to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi on a deal worth $40 million.

The German club is preparing paperwork and an official contract for Adeyemi to sign, though the two sides had come to a verbal agreement months ago regarding a move this summer. All that's left is for Adeyemi to sign the deal and he'll be ready to sign for Dortmund.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a prolific season in Austria's top flight. Adeyemi has featured in 26 matches for Red Bull Salzburg, scoring 17 goals and adding 3 assists. Throughout his three years with the club, Adeyemi has 25 goals in 64 matches, of which 34 were starts. He's been a first-team regular since he was just 18 and is looking to serve as a possible replacement for Erling Haaland, who is widely expected to leave Dortmund in the upcoming transfer window.

Adeyemi is one of the most highly-rated young players in world football, so this is a great addition for Dortmund. He appears to be following the path of Haaland, having both made the move from Salzburg to Dortmund at a young age. Hopefully, he can show that he's on par with his Norwegian counterpart in terms of talent and make a big impact in his first season in Germany.
