Free agent point guard Brandon Jennings has chosen to sign a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Shanxi Dragons, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

With a dying market for free agent guards this deep in the offseason, Jennings hopes to make a comeback to the NBA after finishing out his season overseas.

The Compton native had a decent go as a spark plug with the New York Knicks to start the season, but was consequently waived and picked up from waivers by the Washington Wizards, a stint that panned out horribly after completely disappearing in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Jennings isn't a stranger to playing in foreign soil, having started his career in Italy for a year — opting to play overseas rather than play a year in college after high school amid the age rule provision.

The 6-foot-1 lefty speed demon can potentially make a triumphant return to the NBA is he can put up the numbers to garner attention, given how the last few years of his career have determined his ceiling as a backup floor general.
