Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and with that, he sometimes crosses the line.

Like in last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals, for example.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Mayfield has been fined $10,026 by the NFL for making a “lewd gesture” after a touchdown against the Bengals last Sunday.

Mayfield will appeal the fine, which came as the result of the signal-caller pretending to expose his private parts to Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens.

Kitchens didn't think Mayfield did anything wrong.

“I don’t know what he did wrong,’’ Kitchens said. “I don’t know. I don’t understand what he did wrong. I don’t understand what the big deal is. He’s in the middle of a football game in the National Football League. There’s great emotion in a game of football, and whatever he does on the football field is on the football field so I do not know.”

Of course, Mayfield likely had some extra motivation against the Bengals, as former Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson, whom Mayfield does not exactly have much love for, is now a member of Cincinnati's coaching staff.

During the first meeting between the Browns and the Bengals this season, Mayfield evaded a postgame hug attempt from Jackson, instead offering a quick handshake.

He later called Jackson “fake.”

On the year, Mayfield has thrown for 3,349 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 95.1.

The Browns will enter their season finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday with a record of 7-7-1.
