All the talk this offseason has been about the Cleveland Browns offense but coach Freddie Kitchen doesn't want you to forget about the defense. Talking to reporters on Wednesday Kitchens reminded everyone of the guys signed on the defense and just how excited he is for the additions.

“I don't know if you guys got the AP Wire. Is there an AP Wire still going on these days? Anyways, we signed some defensive guys that can play some football,” Kitchens told reporters via the Browns' official website. “We really did. (Defensive tackle) Sheldon Richardson, (defensive end) Olivier Vernon, (safety) Morgan Burnett, we added some pieces on defense, too. Hopefully, you guys in the fall start talking about them a little bit.”

Richardson, Vernon, and Burnett should all be key players in making the defense a lot stronger this upcoming season and as long as they are just decent, the Browns have a chance to win a lot of games. Vernon also spoke to the media on Wednesday and said it's still a while before everyone gets everything figured out, but right now he is happy with where the team is.

“It's a little early, but from what I've seen, everybody is just trying to get the right fit, trying to gel together, getting an understanding of the defense,” Vernon said. “That's it, pretty much. Just trying to set the standard each and every day, trying to meet those. Just building chemistry. That's the main thing.”

Everyone is going to tune in to watch the Browns offense, but don't forget to check out the defense too.
