The Cleveland Browns started their season on the wrong foot. Despite high expectations placed on them, Freddie Kitchens now 2-3 with big games coming up to their schedule.

Anyone would think that the first-year head coach is struggling to get it all together in his first year as the head coach; that he’s finding it hard to get into a smooth beat. However, he denied that he’s experiencing any of that at all.

He was asked during Tuesday’s press conference about the difficulty of his first head coaching job. He claimed he didn’t feel any significant shift from the time he was the offensive coordinator to now leading the entire team.

Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper writes:

“No, I would not say that at all. I would not say that at all,” Kitchens said. “I think you get into the situation, it is about the result and the narrative changes from the different results that you have. Of course, that can be the narrative. That is the easy thing to say. Just look at the tape.”

However, it cannot be denied that the team is struggling to string together wins against teams they should have competed against this season. They were flattened by the San Francisco 49ers and the Tennessee Titans while the LA Rams took them down in Week 3.

Baker Mayfield reiterated the need for the team to sort out the offense. Browns.com’s Andrew Gribble reiterated Mayfield’s speech:

“Our sense of urgency is at an all-time high right now. I think we have guys that are locked in. We realize exactly what we need to do. We are going to take this short week and see what we can do on Sunday.”

Kitchens may claim everything’s fine, but he’ll be in hot water if the Browns fail to put up a fighting performance against the Seattle Seahawks.
