The Cleveland Browns could pursue safety Anthony Harris in free agency, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Harris has spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, and given that former Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski is now the Browns' head coach, a match between Harris and Cleveland makes some sense.

Harris is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he played 14 games and registered 60 tackles, six interceptions, a fumble recovery, 11 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Virginia, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Vikings in May 2015.

He appeared in four contests during his rookie year, logging 15 tackles. Then, the following year, Harris's role grew significantly, as he participated in every game and finished with 41 stops and a fumble recovery.

However, the Chesterfield, Va. native did not become a full-time starter for Minnesota until midway through 2018. That season, he started nine of his 15 appearances and recorded 46 tackles, three picks and six passes defended.

Clearly, 2019 served as a breakout year for Harris, so he will likely end up being a rather sought after defensive back on the free-agent market.

With the Browns in need of some help on the defensive side of the ball, Harris certainly represents a potential target.

Cleveland entered this past season with Super Bowl aspirations, but ended up winning just six games and missing the playoffs altogether, resulting in the firings of head coach Freddie Kitchens and general manager John Dorsey.
