Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is widely regarded as the greatest QB in the history of the NFL. During the early part of his career, he was often compared to Peyton Manning as the two best of their generation. However, Brady since managed for his career to span two generations of football, giving the saying “father time is undefeated” the toughest challenge yet.

Despite the accomplishments throughout Brady's career, one former NFL player has a very different take on things.

According to Bart Scott, “I’d much rather go against Tom Brady every day of the week than go against Peyton Manning… I believe that’s how everybody feels,” Scott said on ESPN Radio. “Tom Brady was more about Bill Belichick, the entire team, the execution, them having a game plan.”

That would be a more understandable take maybe 15 years ago. At that time, there was still a debate.

But there are so many problems with Scott's assertion of Tom Brady. For one, Brady proved that it obviously was not ‘more about Belichick' when he won a Super Bowl at age 42 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What have the Patriots done since Brady left?

Also, Scott overlooked the most important thing to all athletes; winning.

As great as Manning is, his playoff resume is awful. He has the most losses at home off of a bye in NFL history. When Manning won his second Super Bowl title, it was despite him, not because of him. Everyone can agree on that.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady is at his best when his best is required. Over and over. Whether that means trailing 28-3 in a Super Bowl, throwing for 505 yards in a Super Bowl loss, or the seven rings, the man's resume speaks for itself. If you are just worried about giving up yards, then yeah, maybe fear Manning more. But if you are worried about losing the game, there is no football player you should ever fear more than Tom Brady.
