The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to sign defensive tackle Kyle Love, who’s a former teammate of Tom Brady.

According to Greg Auman of The Athletic, Love recently passed his physical and is expected to sign Monday. Love went undrafted out of Mississippi State and first signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent.

He spent three seasons with the Patriots before moving on to the Jacksonville Jaguars and then the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers. Throughout his NFL career, Love has played 115 games regular season games, split between several teams. During his six seasons with the Panthers, the 33-year-old recorded just 15 career sacks and 147 tackles.

Since the Buccaneers already have a loaded interior line with Vita Vea and Ndamukong Suh, this move seems to appear to be for depth and experience purposes.

Nevertheless, now that the Buccaneers have Tom Brady as their quarterback, they’ve emerged as potentially one of the top offenses in the league. In addition to having Brady, they’ll also have one of the league’s best receiver tandems on the outside in Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.

With that being said, there’s no doubt that the Buccaneers are one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LV. However, before thinking about the Super Bowl, the Buccaneers need to make the playoffs first. They’ll be seeking to make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to play their first regular seasons game against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 13.
