Fatherhood is a tough business. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is beginning to learn that.
Giannis' son, Liam Charles Antetokounmpo was born on Monday, the 2019 NBA MVP announced on Twitter.
Antetokoumpo joked at this year's All-Star Weekend in Chicago that the birth of his son has proved that he is not āunstoppable'
āNow that I have a baby I kind of feel sleepy,ā Antetokounmpo said per Malika Andrews of ESPN.
Liam is Giannis' first child with his girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger, a former collegiate volleyball player.
Antetokoumpo is in Chicago for All-Star Weekend in order to take part in the All-Star game in which he was one of the captains. Team Giannis will go up against Team LeBron on Sunday.
On the court, Antetokoumpo has taken his already MVP-level game to the next level. The 25-year-old Buck is averaging a career-high 30.0 points per game to go along with 13.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Antetokounmpo's spectacular play has allowed Milwaukee to get out to an impressive 46-8 record by the break ā the best mark in the NBA.
The Bucks are 6.5 games ahead of anyone else in the Eastern Conference and Antetokounmpo ā now a father ā could very well be on his way to a second straight MVP award.
