With an immediate need at the shooting guard position, the Milwaukee Bucks are looking to make some changes.

Bucks wing player Khris Middleton has been ruled out of action for six months after surgery on his left hamstring, leaving a hole in the backcourt. Members of Milwaukee’s front office have reportedly reached out to the Sacramento Kings, regarding a potential trade for 23-year-old guard Ben McLemore, per Zach Lowe of ESPN.

According to Lowe, the Bucks are looking to move either big man Greg Monroe or former Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams in the deal.

The player in question

Monroe, who has been consistently linked with trade rumors over the last few years, is expected to play the role of sixth man in the forthcoming season in Milwaukee after originally being touted to be a leader for the team’s first unit. His name has also been connected to a trade with the Hornets in recent weeks.

Carter-Williams is only three years into his somewhat turbulent NBA career. The 24-year-old guard had an incredibly impressive first season for the Philadelphia 76ers, but was subsequently traded to the Bucks soon after. He has struggled to establish himself since arriving in Milwaukee.

McLemore also has seen some turbulence. He has not performed as well as Sacramento had hoped upon his arrival. However, many in the league believe that the 23-year-old still possesses an abundance of unfulfilled potential.

A fresh start may be all these players need to take their game to the next level.
