If Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn't sign the supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks after this season ends, he can become an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

Antetokounmpo’s agent, Alex Saratsis of Octagon Basketball, says the Bucks star is loyal, which is a quote Milwaukee fans love to hear:

“Giannis believes in loyalty, he believes in the people who’ve been there with him from the beginning, and I think he feels that kinship to the city because they have really helped raise him,” Saratsis told TMJ4 News of Milwaukee. “I think he’s someone who could easily say, ‘I’d like to be in Milwaukee my entire career.’ I think he’s also someone who, depending on how the team does, could say, ‘I need a change.’ But for him, staying is absolutely a viable option.”

By all accounts, Antetokounmpo loves playing for the Bucks and living in Milwaukee. He has said in the past he doesn’t like big-market cities such as New York or Los Angeles.

The Bucks have a great shot of winning the East this season and ultimately winning the championship. For that to happen, the Bucks will need Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe to play at a high level once the playoffs start and be effective second and third options on offense, respectively, behind Antetokounmpo.

Just like last season, the Bucks have the best record in the NBA. Antetokounmpo could very well win his second straight MVP award, too. He's averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 61.4 percent from the free-throw line.
