Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo knows full well his team must find a way to bounce back in Game 2 versus the Boston Celtics. However, he is not in the business of providing any guarantees.

The Bucks were flat-out dominated at home in Game 1. According to ESPN's Tim Bontemps, Antetokounmpo promises that Milwaukee will play with much more effort this time around.

“I can't promise you we are going to win, but I can promise we are going to play hard.”

These are certainly not the most reassuring comments from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Regardless, it is clear that he is focusing on making sure his team plays as hard as they can and let the chips fall where they may. That is all a player can do when facing a tough opponent like the Celtics.

It is no secret Antetokounmpo struggled mightily versus Boston in Game 1. Aside from his poor outing, the Celtics played with a much more concerted effort on defense. They made it a point to contain the current frontrunner for MVP and it worked out beautifully in Game 1. Giannis finished the game with just 22 points on 7-of-21 shooting, far cry from what he had been doing throughout the entire 2018-19 NBA season.

The fact that Boston would put an emphasis on stopping Antetokounmpo should come as no surprise. Milwaukee had found a way to step up their play whenever their star is struggling to find his rhythm all season, however, that was certainly not the case to start the series. Antetokounmpo is likely hoping that their effort will lead to a potential win in Game 2.
