Coming on the heels of a disappointing Conference Finals exit, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had some encouraging words for his team. He assured fans that while the team might not have the same regular season success next year, they will be playoff contenders for years to come:

“I don't promise we're gonna get 61 next year, but we're gonna put ourselves in a place to be a championship contending team for many more years to come. And there's not a lot of teams that can say that in the league — there's one, two, three, four teams that can say that — but we're gonna put ourselves in that situation for many more years to come.”

In order for these words to come true, the Bucks will have to re-sign some core players. Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Malcolm Brogdon are hitting the market this offseason. All of them will probably expect bigger contracts after breaking out this year. All of them were integral to Milwaukee's success.

Some of Milwaukee's bench members will also be free agents. George Hill, who played excellently this postseason, will be looking for a contract, as will Nikola Mirotic.

A massive chunk of the Bucks team can walk in search of brighter pastures. If the Greek Freak wants to remain a contender, Milwaukee will have to offer contracts to most of them or search for quality replacements.
