The Milwaukee Bucks were suddenly left looking for answers to remedy the loss of Malcolm Brogdon, who injured his foot during Friday's contest against the Miami Heat.

Brogdon, who's started at point guard in all 64 games he's played this season, is the first Milwaukee player to have gone down with a significant injury this season. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a plantar fascia tear in his right foot.

As a result, the Bucks signed journeyman Tim Frazier on Monday, as Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports had reported.

The signing of Frazier meant that the Bucks had to free up a roster spot for their new relief point guard, and 23-year-old center Christian Wood was eventually released by the team.

One player who surely wasn't too thrilled by Wood's departure is none other than Giannis Antetokounmpo, who tweeted his praise for the 6-foot-10 Wood before he was released by the team.

Christian Wood has only played 13 games this season for Milwaukee, averaging less than five minutes of action and under three points per contest during his stay. Although Wood's body of work for the team hasn't really been impactful, the leading MVP candidate sees a bright future ahead for the undrafted upstart.

Giannis Antetokounmpo's praise for Wood should serve as encouragement for the latter's departure. Wood has played for three different NBA teams in each season that he's been in the league.

With the lack of depth at the point and the postseason looming, the Bucks had good reason to release Wood. George Hill will likely get the starting nod in place of Malcolm Brogdon, while Tim Frazier will serve as Hill's backup.
