Since he entered the league last year, many were immediately intrigued of what Thon Maker can bring to the Milwaukee Bucks. He definitely fits the mold of their big men, being long and athletic, and he was thought of as someone who can make a difference for them especially on the defensive end.

While he showed glimpses of his true potential in his rookie year, Thon Maker was only limited to 57 games due to injury, and was not able to showcase his entire skill set. This season, the Bucks youngster has been earning the trust of the coaching staff more, leading to increased minutes on the floor.

On Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls, Maker showed off his ability to block shots by swatting Nikola Mirotic’s layup that reached the fans sitting behind the Bucks bench.

Thon Maker may have had a highlight reel-worthy block, but that was all he contributed for his team on the night, along with three rebounds. He was held scoreless, missing his two field goal attempts, and was a -9 on the plus-minus rating.

The 20-year-old will look to bounce back from his dismal performance, and help the Bucks snap out of their two-game losing skid on Thursday, when they go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, he will have his work cut out for him as he will be facing a frontcourt which includes Karl-Anthony Towns, Taj Gibson, and Gorgui Dieng.
