The NBA is definitely starting to tense up now that teams are starting to make a run for the postseason. On Saturday, the Bulls took on the Wizards in a classic Eastern Conference showdown. On one particular play, Tomas Satoransky drove to the basket for a layup. Following that, Bulls forward Bobby Portis clotheslined him and received a flagrant foul. He was promptly ejected afterwards, but the Wizards were not going to let the incident go by unnoticed.

Wizards guard Jodie Meeks went at Portis for his reckless play on Saturday, per Cody Westerlund of The Score.

“If a guy has a clear lane to the basket, if you can’t get there, let him go, don’t try to take him out. Obviously, not everybody abides by those rules.”

Portis, who is known for his quick temper, quickly clapped back at Meeks for his comment, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

Bobby Portis on why he Tweeted at Jodie Meeks: “I mean, I don’t like that he said I didn’t abide by the rules. In what basketball world does it say just let a man go lay the ball up?”

Although the play in the video was rather questionable, both sides do make a valid argument. In the Wizards' case, Portis was wrong for excessively trying to stop an opposing player who already was at the rim. However, Portis believes that his job is to protect the rim no matter what. Hopefully, both sides can move on now that the game is long over.
