Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is out there not trying to prove anything, as he has only one thing in his mind: to get a W.

On Sunday, LaVine did just that and had a Michael Jordan-esque energy, as he erupted for 29 points in the first half. It was his backcourt partner Coby White who took over in the second half and dropped 21 of his 23 points. Combining for a total of 62 points, the Bulls guards helped Chicago chalk up their first home win of the season.

LaVine, who ended the game scoring 39, talked to the media after the contest and explained why he took his foot off the gas and passed on a huge scoring evening.

“I mean, like tonight, if I had just went out there and shot every time, I could've got 50 probably. But I'm trying to win the game,” Zach LaVine said, via K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

For the record, LaVine's career-high is 49 points, which he dropped in a Bulls uniform at the early part of the 2019-20 season. This clearly shows that the 25-year-old is more than capable of getting to a 50-point total after 48 minutes of play.

However, the two-time Slam Dunk champion is showing Bulls fans that he's more than just a scorer and he can be capable of leading the young Chicago squad to some wins. After moving to the Windy City from Minnesota before the 2017-18 season, LaVine has been one of the most important members of the team. While they have seen little success as a team over the past few years, LaVine is hoping to change all that this 2020-21.
