In news that is not going to make Chicago Bulls fans happy, general manager Gar Forman isn't in any danger of losing his job.

Bulls fans have wanted Forman and vice president of basketball operations John Paxson fired for some time now. It doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.

“As for Gar, I’ll just keep reiterating he’s very good at what he does,’’ Paxson said, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “He’s out in Portland right now at the Nike Hoops Summit scouting. He and I work in tandem. But I assume the leadership of this organization in my role, and that’s how we’re set up.

“Our draft record, I think, is very good. And I’m going to be the one that’s out front and center. That’s how we’ve set it up.’’

The Bulls are missing the playoffs for the second-straight season this year. Chicago is in rebuild move after Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2017.

Forman became GM of the Bulls in 2009. Other than drafting Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler, he's been awful in Chicago.

Paxson deserves more credit for drafting Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr.
