In Rajon Rondo's lone season with the Chicago Bulls, there were plenty of internal issues that arose during the team's struggles throughout the year.

One of which was centered around an Instagram post from Rondo taking a subtle shot at Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler while praising his former Boston Celtics teammates Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. According to K.C. Joyner of the Chicago Tribune, the former All-Star guard stated that he is now in good standing with both Wade and Butler.

“We’re good,” Rondo said of his relationship with Wade and Butler. “The post was obviously towards them but it was more so sticking up for the team. It wasn’t like a direct hit against those guys in my opinion. But it was what I felt at the time needed to be expressed.

“I had a dinner at the start of last season for the young guys because I was impressed with how hard they worked. I was in there every day and I saw Denzel (Valentine), Bobby (Portis) put in work every day. I felt somebody should stick up for them.”

There were signs on the court that things hard turned around shortly after that as the Bulls made a push into the playoffs locking up the eighth seed in the East on the final day of the regular season. They had even taken a 2-0 lead in the first-round series against the top-seeded Boston Celtics before Rondo suffered a thumb injury.

However, Chicago decided to head into full rebuilding mode this offseason by trading Butler to the Timberwolves during the draft, decided against picking up the option on the second year of Rondo's contract and worked out a buyout with Wade. There could have been an opportunity to build on the momentum of how last season ended with their current group, but management thought otherwise.

Despite all that, Rondo is still grateful for the experience along with the high praise that he's received from his former Bulls teammates.

“It’s great to have guys come out now and say what a great teammate I am. That’s one of the biggest compliments I can have,” Rondo said. “That’s what I pride myself on. I may not get along with every coach, but the guys know I’m going to fight for them.”

The 31-year-old is set to begin his first year with the New Orleans Pelicans after signing a one-year, $3.3 million deal over the summer.
