A protest against Chicago Bulls Vice President John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman is reportedly about to ensue at the United Center. The two team executives are well-aware of such a planned activity by the fans.

Per Cody Westerlund of the 670 The Score, Paxson said that he's aware of this but did not comment further.

There's a question of whether or not the protest, which has been slated on March 6, is a serious endeavor or one of those things that fans set up to simply send a message.

Yet it is safe to conclude that they are not happy with how their team is performing this season. Much was expected when they hired Jim Boylen, who worked under Gregg Popovich for several years, to bring a winning culture to the team. But since Dec. 4, when Boylen took over the head coaching job, the Bulls have logged a horrific 7-23 record.

In a recent interview, Paxson admitted that the Bulls are currently in rebuild mode. Given this reality, he noted that the organization is not yet ready for big-time free agents just yet. Per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times:

“We are not at that stage. Is it a black eye? No. I don’t consider it. That’s our aspiration. We’ve understood that process we’re in right now is hoping to get to that point but we also believe that the draft is very important in order to build to get to there and that’s why we are sitting here a year and a half after trading Jimmy [Butler] with Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter out of the draft, another draft pick coming up, and time will tell.”

Bulls fans might need to wait a little longer before their team goes back to their winning ways. It seems that Paxson and company are taking their time.
