The Chicago Bulls have the No. 4 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and are trying to figure out the best way forward when it comes to their rebuild. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are looking to add talent around Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

Perhaps the Bulls and Mavs can work together on a deal. According to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor, Dallas has asked Chicago about a Zach LaVine trade. Other teams have inquired about LaVine's trade availability, and the Mavs are also reportedly interested in other guards such as Victor Oladipo, Jrue Holiday and Spencer Dinwiddie.

LaVine could definitely fill out a specific niche for Dallas. LaVine's slashing and shooting ability would be welcome on a Mavs team trying to take pressure off Doncic on the perimeter. The 25-year-old guard finished the 2019-20 season averaging 25.5 points, his highest of any season, while shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 38.0 percent on 3-pointers.

Of course, the big question is whether or not the Bulls would be willing to trade away their best player. LaVine is still on an affordable contract with two years and $39 million left, and he has improved during his time in Chicago.

However, if Chicago drafts somebody like LaMelo Ball this year, this new front office might be willing to move on from LaVine and move forward with a backcourt of Ball and Coby White. The front office could also always opt to see how the trio meshes in the first year before making any moves.

If the Bulls truly do find themselves believing their future lies outside of LaVine, taking away some pieces from the Mavs to support Ball could be beneficial. Perhaps somebody like Tim Hardaway Jr. is involved in a deal, but Chicago would obviously need more than that to part ways with its star guard.
