The Dallas Mavericks appear intent on making big moves to improve the roster ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Matt Moore of The Action Network reports the Mavs have interest in a number of impact guards thought to be on the trade market, including Victor Oladipo, Jrue Holiday and Spencer Dinwiddie.

It might not come as a surprise to hear there is intrigue with respect to Dinwiddie in particular.

Ian Begley of SNY reported Monday a number of Western Conference contenders haveĀ interest in acquiring Dinwiddie. The Mavs would seemingly fit the billing as a contender, given the year-over-year leap they made last season.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Nets will actually trade Dinwiddie this offseason. Conversely, there are real indications both Oladipo and Holiday could change teams, for the right price.

Oladipo is entering the final year of his contract with the Indiana Pacers, and there have been constant murmurs about him potentially moving on.

The New Orleans Pelicans have been open to hearing offers for Holiday, though team president David Griffin also stated just because the team was listening did not mean they were ā€œintentā€ on moving Holiday.

Dallas has some interesting trade capital, both in the form of this year's first-round draft pick in addition to some frontcourt pieces.

Holiday might be the most costly of the three, but would also likely have the biggest impact for the Mavs. The two-time All-Defensive selection is widely regarded as one of the top individual defenders in the NBA, and the Mavs could also use the additional playmaking and rebounding he provides from the guard spot.

In any case, Dallas is not being shy about showing its hand this offseason. The Mavs had an excellent 2019-20 campaign, and now the franchise is trying to take the next step forward.
