Candace Parker, who previously signed a contract with the WNBA reigning champion Las Vegas Aces, recently blasted the league for underpaying star players.

“In a lot of areas, the WNBA tries to do things like the NBA in their business plan… except that (revenue sharing),” Parker told Draymond Green during a recent podcast. “Let's just be honest… We're paying our coaches more than our star players, we're paying our GMs more than our star players. I think that the way you have the product on display, says a lot about the product… There's a lot of things that have grown in the WNBA, but there's also a lot of things that need to change.”

Candace Parker also said that it should be easier for fans to find her jersey. She wants the league's marketing to improve. The Aces, fresh off their championship, happen to feature some of the WNBA's most popular players. Candace Parker is one of the faces of the league, while Kelsey Plum and A'ja Wilson also play in Las Vegas.

However, the league needs to find more balance. There is no shortage of overlooked talent around the WNBA that deserves more attention.

Parker has certainly done her part. She's in a number of commercials and has worked as a broadcaster and analyst for the NBA. Additionally, being one of the best WNBA players of her generation helps matters. It will be interesting to see if the league can continue it's growth.

And it goes without saying, but the more the league grows the more players will get paid.
