The Arizona Cardinals found their man in head coach Steve Wilks. Now the team has officially packaged him with general manager Steve Keim for the foreseeable future.

Keim was entering the final season of the four-year deal he signed back in 2015. According to Darren Urban of azcardinals.com, Cardinals president Michael Bidwill says both he and Wilks are now signed together through the 2022 season:

“Steve’s performance and accomplishments as Cardinals GM speak for themselves,” Bidwill said. “His role in the team’s success over the last five seasons is undeniable. This new contract ensures that he will continue to shape our success going forward and we are thrilled about that.”

Keim has been in the Cardinals incubator for some time now since joining the team as a scout back in 1999. He worked his way up the ranks and was eventually promoted to Vice President of Player Personnel. Needless to say, Arizona has been more than happy with his and the team's progress in recent years.

Keim has enjoyed plenty of success in the Cardinals' front office since taking over as general manager in January of 2013. He has been a recipient of multiple awards given to front office executives by major football outlets such as Pro Football Talk and Sporting News. During that time, the Cardinals have accumulated a 49-30-1 record.

He is going to need his eye for talent now more than ever as Arizona has a huge offseason coming up. Keim will be tasked with putting together a team capable of not only convincing wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to put off retirement but regaining their legitimacy in a suddenly competitive NFC West.
